FLAMENCA FASHION ON RED CARPETS

It is increasingly common to see celebrities from other countries wearing dresses and accessories inspired by flamenco fashion. In the United States, Andalusian-inspired dresses can be found on red carpets, video clips or movies more and more frequently.

The typical Sevillanas dress is always made with fabrics that adapt very well to the feminine figure and are very elegant. It is no wonder that designers from all over the world are inspired by this particular regional costume of our area. Moreover, for the famous women who dare to wear it, it will always bring them a point of originality.

We can see some examples of these celebrities who wore models designs by Flamenca fashion on the world's most famous red carpets.

During the Cannes Film Festival in 2015, Eva Longoria appeared on the red carpet in a Spanish-inspired dress. It is a strapless design very tight with a full skirt that reminds us of Sevillanas dresses with large flounces.

In 2010, actress Léa Michèlle walked on the red carpet of Los Angeles in an Oscar del Renta dress with a cut similar to our most typical flamenco costumes. Made in a very elegant taffeta, the flounces that surround the lower part until reaching the hip let you see a clear Andalusian inspiration in this design.

In daytime events we can also see dresses reminiscent of flamenco fashion. Monica Belluci attended the Cannes festival with this beautiful dress with a stamp that is the hallmark of the flamenco costume: the polka dots. Undoubtedly a design that the Italian actress knows how to wear with style without hardly any more complement.

At the amFAR gala in 2016, Katy Perry surprised by wearing a red floral dress inspired by the Andalusian style signed by Marchesa. The singer got an even more flamenco look with a hairstyle and makeup very similar to that worn by women when they wear the gitanas dress. The updo hair and a red lipstick are the perfect complement to this gorgeous dress. The petals of red flowers on the sleeves and at the end of the dress are details that make us think of our region.

            alfombra roja flamenca

In a totally flamenco dress by Ralph & Russo, Aishwarya Rai was spectacular at the Cannes festival in 2017. This dress reminds us of the traditional flamenco costumes that were very tight at the top and with a full skirt with lots of flounces that starts at the waist. Red is undoubtedly the most representative colour of flamenco fashion.

The flamenco dress is the only regional costume that combines tradition with the new trends that are coming up every season. It is a unique dress that has captivated fashion from all over the world and is becoming more common to see on any international catwalk a touch of typical Andalusian fashion.
